Scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate exceptional academic performance and a keen interest in water and sustainable development. Applications to the MSc programme are due 1 March 2024. Once academically admitted to the MSc programme, applicants have until 1 April 2024 to complete a WMO Fellowship Nomination Form (accessible through the link above) and submit it to the Permanent Representative (PR) of their country affiliated with WMO. Contact details for PRs can be found on the WMO website.

The PR will decide whether to officially submit your application to WMO. The PR will inform applicants whether their applications have been successful by the end of July 2024.

WMO Fellowships Programme

The aim of the WMO Fellowships Programme is to support the education and training of qualified and suitable candidates, particularly from least developed and developing countries and Small Island Developing States. WMO may award both short-term (more than one month and less than six months) and long-term (6 months or longer) fellowships, based on recommendations of the Education and Training Committee (ETCOM) and in alignment with the priorities of the Education and Training Programme.
