FULLY FUNDED TO ITALY: Apply for the UNHCR University Corridors for Refugees Scholarship Programme 2025

Applications are open for the 2025 University Corridors for Refugees Scholarship Initiative, an effort spearheaded by Italian institutions in partnership with UNHCR, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Caritas Italiana, Diaconia Valdese, Centro Astalli, and additional stakeholders. This program is designed to expand educational opportunities for individuals with refugee status currently residing in Ethiopia, India, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, offering them a chance to further their academic journey in Italy.

Eligible applicants must be officially recognized as refugees in one of the listed countries through collaboration with UNHCR. They should possess an academic qualification that meets the entry criteria for a relevant Second Cycle Degree Program in Italy. A minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0, based on the grading system of their respective country of higher education, is required or an equivalent as per the comparative scale provided by the Italian Ministry of Education. Candidates should have earned their degree in or after 2020 and before the application deadline, although some universities may not impose a graduation time restriction, so applicants should review individual institutional requirements. They must also fulfill the specific admission standards of their chosen degree program and should not have been previously enrolled in any academic institution participating in this initiative. Additionally, proficiency in the English language is necessary.

Successful candidates will commence their degree programs in September 2025, receiving full tuition waivers at participating Italian universities. They will also be granted financial aid covering airfare and visa-related expenditures, alongside a study allowance to support their living expenses throughout their time in Italy. This program provides an unparalleled opportunity for refugees seeking higher education in Europe, ensuring they can pursue academic excellence without financial burdens while gaining international exposure.
