The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), a treaty-based international organization working to advance sustainable and inclusive economic growth in developing and emerging economies, is inviting applications for the position of Deputy Executive Director and Head of the Directorate of Green Growth Implementation (DGGI).

This executive-level role offers a unique opportunity to provide strategic leadership at the heart of GGGI’s country and regional implementation work. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the successful candidate will guide the organization’s green growth delivery portfolio, strengthen partnerships with governments and donors, and ensure high-quality results aligned with GGGI’s Strategy 2030 and Corporate Results Framework.

Role Overview

The Deputy Executive Director and Head of DGGI will oversee GGGI’s implementation operations across member and partner countries, acting as a central bridge between institutional strategy, country delivery, and external partnerships. As a senior member of the Management Team, the role contributes to shaping organizational vision, driving program performance, and scaling high-impact green growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for GGGI’s green growth implementation mandate and country portfolios

• Translate institutional strategy into prioritized, high-impact regional and national programs

• Lead engagement with governments, donors, and strategic partners to strengthen cooperation and resource mobilization

• Oversee performance, quality assurance, risk management, and learning across implementation activities

• Guide business development efforts and position GGGI as a trusted global partner in green growth

• Build and mentor diverse leadership teams and promote an inclusive, innovation-driven organizational culture

• Represent GGGI in international forums and contribute to global dialogue on sustainable development and green growth
