Overview of the role: In your role as the advisor on climate finance, you will lead our charge in advancing and forming the policies related to climate financing, which are essential to climate action and sustainable development in Africa. In order to support climate action initiatives, this function entails communication strategy, project coordination, CSO involvement and advocacy, participation in UNFCCC procedures, and resource mobilisation.

Under the direction of Power Shift Africa's executive director, the programmes associate will answer to the programmes manager.

Coordinating projects, mobilising resources, interacting with stakeholders, networking, communication, and policy influence are all part of the job description. The person will take the lead in advocacy work to shape international climate financing policies, write policy papers, and speak on behalf of Power Shift Africa at pertinent functions.

In addition to managing reporting obligations, they will supervise climate programmes, find funding sources, and foster partnerships with funders. Along with developing connections with the financial and climate policy groups, planning events, coordinating stakeholder engagement tactics, and creating communication plans to increase public understanding of climate finance concerns are all part of their responsibilities. In addition, they will work on other initiatives with the larger PSA team.
