The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is the leading organization within the UN Development System for promoting sustainable development and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as advancing the African Union's Agenda 2063 in Africa. UNDP operates at various levels, from headquarters to regional and country offices, providing a broad spectrum of expertise from local knowledge to global perspectives.

In this context, UNDP invests in a network of field-based and global technical expertise across different knowledge domains to support its strategic goals. The SDG Integration team, part of UNDP's Global Policy Network, plays a central role in shaping collaborative platforms for addressing complex sustainable development challenges.

The SDG Integration Analyst, under the guidance of the SDG Integration Advisor, is based at the UNDP Regional Service Centre for Africa in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The analyst's role encompasses three main areas:

1. Accelerating SDGs and Agenda 2063: This involves collaborating with UNDP data platforms, tracking metrics and targets, and collecting relevant data to support the acceleration of SDGs and Agenda 2063.

2. Integration of SDGs and Agenda 2063: This entails analyzing policy documents, engaging with UNDP teams and partners, and aligning efforts with the Africa Union Commission.

3. Managing knowledge products, reviews, and learning: The analyst initiates and contributes to the creation of knowledge products, organizes knowledge sharing events, engages with communities of practice, and monitors post-review actions related to the implementation of SDGs and Agenda 2063.

Additionally, the analyst supports UNDP Country Offices and partners, manages related requests, tracks resources, contributes to reporting, and assists in building the capacities of young people, particularly through the UN Online Volunteer program.

The SDG Integration Analyst is expected to work collaboratively across various functions and projects, reflecting UNDP's approach to addressing interconnected development challenges.

Key Competencies for the SDG Integration Analyst include achieving results, innovative thinking, continuous learning, adaptability, determination, engagement, diversity and inclusion, and technical skills in SDG integration, data strategy and management, knowledge generation, partnerships management, and performance accountability.

Qualifications for the role include an advanced university degree or a bachelor's degree with additional experience in relevant disciplines. The candidate should have a minimum of 2 years (with a master's degree) or 4 years (with a bachelor's degree) of professional experience in policy advice, program support, and public policy coordination, with at least one year of experience in developing country settings. Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of another UN language is beneficial.
