JOBS: GIZ is hiring Digital Ambassadors and specialists

GIZ is seeking dedicated digital changemakers eager to contribute to bridging the global Digital Divide by specializing in development services, such as in Vietnam, Rwanda, Jordan, or Honduras.

For over 50 years, the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) has been championing the realization of development policy objectives worldwide as a government-backed entity. Collaborating with partner organizations in over 130 countries, they are engaged in diverse projects. If you aspire to make a positive impact globally while advancing personally, you've found the right place.

Are you passionate about narrowing the digital gap in Global South countries and actively shaping digital transformation on the ground? Whether it's advising municipal multimedia centers in West Africa, enhancing climate data platforms in Latin America, or supporting digitalization efforts in North African micro-enterprises, they offer opportunities to make a difference. If you possess expertise in digital transformation, technical skills, and methodological proficiency, they welcome you to join them.

Under their “promoting inclusive digital change" initiative, Digital Ambassadors play a crucial role in providing disadvantaged groups, municipalities, and civil society organizations in partner countries with improved access to digital technologies. Through this initiative, they aim to ensure more people benefit from the opportunities of digitization, particularly in rural areas, among women, girls, and young people, and in supporting democratic processes.

As a Digital Ambassador, you'll serve as a bridge between the digital world, ecosystems, and local realities, collaborating with GIZ teams and local partners to co-create solutions to bridge the digital divide.

Your role as a specialist in development services may involve tasks such as teaching basic digital competencies, designing digital concepts for NGOs, developing innovative solutions for internet access, and collaborating with local partners on various digital initiatives.

Eligibility criteria include a relevant university or professional degree, practical experience in digital transformation processes, IT/ICT knowledge, understanding of digital literacy promotion, experience working abroad, sensitivity to gender equality, teamwork abilities, and fluency in English or German, with additional language skills being advantageous.

Assignments are typically one to two years in duration and may vary in location based on project requirements. We invite applicants to express preferences for specific regions in their cover letters.
