Position Summary:
The Senior Manager of Design, Learning & Impact is responsible for leading the design, learning, and impact assessment processes for Women Deliver's initiatives and work streams. This role involves guiding the organization and its teams through work stream vision and design, evaluating the impact of ongoing initiatives, offering recommendations for enhancement, and strategically refining the overall organizational strategy. Collaborating with various stakeholders, including the President & CEO, Monitoring Evaluation and Learning Lead, and work stream leaders, this role contributes to evolving Women Deliver's institutional results framework and devises tools to gauge and assess impact, thereby facilitating evidence-based decisions regarding Women Deliver's initiatives. In its initial phase, this role will center on leading the organization's after-action review of the WD2023 Conference, particularly concerning the design and development of new work streams for Women Deliver.
This position reports directly to the President & CEO.
Key Responsibilities:
Organization Strategy & Work Stream Design
Collaborates with the President & CEO to assess and review the current WD strategy, initiatives, and work streams;
Conducts needs assessments and research to identify gaps and define work stream and initiative objectives and impact;
Formulates comprehensive initiatives, including goals, objectives, activities, and implementation timelines;
Facilitates internal collaboration with program teams and external partners to ensure program alignment with the organizational mission and goals;
Integrates evidence-based practices and evaluation framework concepts into program design.
Institutional Learning and Impact
Initiates formal evaluations and reviews of WD initiatives and work streams as required and directed;
Develops and executes evaluation plans for the organization, encompassing data collection methods, tools, and analysis protocols;
Oversees initiative implementation to ensure efficiency and quality of work;
Collaborates with Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEL) champions to collect, analyze, and interpret initiative data for assessing outcomes, impact, and effectiveness;
Identifies and tackles program challenges while suggesting necessary modifications for enhancement;
Produces regular reports and presentations on program performance and evaluation findings for relevant stakeholders.
Data Management & Analysis
Manages program data collection and storage systems, ensuring data accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance;
Performs quantitative and qualitative data analysis using suitable tools;
Effectively communicates program outcomes and insights;
Synthesizes research findings to inform program design and evaluation activities;
Engages appropriate stakeholders in program design, evaluation planning, and data interpretation;
Offers technical assistance and capacity-building support to program staff and partners in data collection, monitoring, and evaluation practices;
Takes on other projects and assignments as directed by the President & CEO.
Qualifications, Skills, Education, and Knowledge:
A minimum of 8-10 years of relevant and progressively responsible work experience;
Demonstrated experience in program design, development, and evaluation within non-profit or similar settings;
Solid grasp of program evaluation methodologies, encompassing quantitative and qualitative research methods;
Proficiency in data analysis software and data visualization tools;
Familiarity with evidence-based practices and evaluation frameworks;
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities;
Highly organized with a strong work ethic and keen attention to detail;
Extensive experience in project management and the ability to handle multiple projects and tasks amid shifting priorities;
Proactive and self-directed, adept at multitasking and meeting tight deadlines;
Collaborative and team-oriented approach with the capacity to work effectively with diverse stakeholders;
Substantive knowledge base in gender equality (or related fields) is preferred;
Willingness and ability to travel both domestically and internationally, as needed.
