The NCD Alliance is a distinct civil society network committed to creating a world where everyone can live a healthy, productive life, free from the preventable suffering, stigma, disability, and death caused by noncommunicable diseases (NCDs). Originally formed in 2009 as an informal alliance by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), World Heart Federation (WHF), Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), and the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (The Union), NCDA officially became a formal, membership-based non-governmental organization (NGO) in 2017, registered in Geneva, Switzerland.

With a strong global network of over 425 members across more than 60 countries, NCDA includes national and global NGOs, scientific and professional associations, academic and research institutions, private sector entities, and committed individuals.

NCDA maintains strategic relationships with the World Health Organization, the UN, and governments, with staff based in Geneva, London, and New York. This positions the Alliance at the forefront of advancing noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) on the global health and development agenda.

Additionally, NCDA leads various initiatives and customized programs designed to enhance civil society capacity to drive progress in NCD prevention and control.

1. Policy and Advocacy Officer
Start Date: March 2025

The NCD Alliance is looking for a Policy and Advocacy Officer based in New York to support its global policy and advocacy efforts, focusing particularly on noncommunicable disease (NCD) financing and UN-related activities. This is a great opportunity for candidates interested in working with a respected civil society organization, engaging with multilateral institutions and governments, and leading advocacy and coalition-building on global health and development priorities. The successful candidate will join the Policy, Advocacy, and Accountability (PAA) unit, which operates in Geneva and New York City.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the PAA team in promoting the importance of NCDs, especially in terms of resource mobilization and investment, within global health and development policy forums.
• Strengthen the impact of NCDA's advocacy efforts at the UN, particularly with Member States, the WHO Office in New York, and other global forums related to health financing and the High-Level Meetings (HLM).
• Support the development and delivery of advocacy activities, including reports, events, webinars, and conference sessions.

2.Administrative Officer

The NCD Alliance is a team of 26 staff members and is seeking an Administrative Officer (AO) to assist the Operations unit with daily office procedures. The AO will provide administrative support across various tasks to all units, either by email, video calls, or in person. The role requires initiative and the ability to identify areas where assistance is needed and where blockages may occur. The AO will report to the Operations Manager and will work in a team-oriented environment.
