2025 IMF Internship Program Now Accepting Applications

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is inviting applications for its 2025 Internship Program, a paid opportunity lasting 10 to 12 weeks between June and September 2025. The exact duration and schedule of the internship will be determined in consultation with the selected candidate and their IMF supervisor. This program requires participants to work on-site at the IMF headquarters in Washington, D.C.

During the internship, participants will collaborate with an experienced IMF mentor on research and analysis related to a specific topic assigned by the Fund. The internship may result in a research paper, which could be published internally.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the internship program, applicants must meet the following requirements:

For PhD Candidates:

•Be enrolled in a PhD program in macroeconomics or a related discipline, with completion expected within one to two years.

•Maintain active student status during the internship (i.e., continue doctoral studies after the internship period).

•Be under 32 years of age when the internship begins.

•Demonstrate strong proficiency in both written and spoken English.

•Have advanced analytical, quantitative, and technical computing skills.
