PARTIALLY FUNDED TO CANADA: Apply to join the Italian Delegation to the Y7 Canada Summit 2025 (open for young changemakers worldwide)

Applications are now open for young leaders and innovators to join the Italian delegation at the 2024 Youth 7 (Y7) Summit, an official engagement initiative of the G7 designed for individuals under 30. This program, coordinated by the Young Ambassadors Society (YAS) in collaboration with the Sherpa Office of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, seeks to bring together talented individuals from fields such as technology, political science, economics, and engineering. Participants will engage in months of collaborative work, culminating in the creation of a Final Communique that reflects their recommendations. This document will be presented to heads of state and global leaders at the summit.

The Y7 Summit will be held in Ottawa, Canada, in early May 2025, with exact dates to be announced. Interested candidates are encouraged to submit their applications as soon as possible, as selections are made on a rolling basis. The final deadline is 31 January 2025, 23:59 CET.

Delegates will focus on key global issues, including advancements in artificial intelligence and digital technology, the resilience of economic systems and supply chains, sustainable energy and environmental protection, as well as peace and global security challenges. Their collaborative efforts aim to produce actionable insights and innovative policy proposals.

Applicants must be between 18 and 30 years old at the time of applying and fluent in both English and Italian. Relevant experience—whether professional, academic, entrepreneurial, or voluntary—in one or more of the summit’s thematic areas is essential. Delegates must be prepared to work closely with both Italian and international participants and commit to the activities leading up to and following the summit. These responsibilities include attending pre-summit meetings, contributing to research and policy drafting, organizing consultations with Italian youth, and dedicating approximately seven hours a week to these tasks.

While board and lodging during the summit will be provided, delegates are responsible for covering their travel expenses to and from Canada. It is also essential for participants to ensure they meet any visa requirements for entry into the host country. Italian citizenship is not mandatory for selection, but all applicants must meet the outlined conditions to be considered.
