Pathways International is seeking a skilled Policy Officer to join its dynamic global team, contributing to the organization’s mission to reform global systems for safe and legal routes to protection, particularly for displaced people.
This is a remote position based in Europe, offering a unique opportunity to work on impactful projects with leaders from government, civil society, and the private sector across Europe. The Policy Officer will primarily support the Director of Europe and their team in advancing strategies for pathways to protection and community sponsorship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Writing and Analysis: Develop policy documents, reports, grant proposals, and other written materials related to community sponsorship, resettlement, and complementary pathways.
- Briefing and Communication: Prepare briefings for senior leadership, offering communication support, drafting confidential correspondence, and assisting with editing tasks.
- Meeting and Event Coordination: Organize meetings, prepare agendas, and handle logistics for events and stakeholder engagements, ensuring effective communication and follow-up.
- Partnership Support: Engage with key stakeholders, including governments, NGOs, and private sector partners, to advance collaborative projects and shared objectives.
- Project Management: Support the delivery of European projects, including AMIF-funded initiatives, by assisting with resources, materials, and tools to further the program's goals.
- Knowledge Management: Analyze, summarize, and organize reports and data related to the organization’s focus areas to inform strategy and decision-making.
- Development Support: Assist in fundraising efforts, including preparing proposals and engaging with potential donors.

Additional Information
A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in public policy, political science, international development, or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience in policy development, project management, or related work, particularly in areas such as forced displacement, refugee protection, or global migration.
Demonstrated ability to draft high-quality strategic documents and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
Fluent in English with advanced proficiency in German; additional language skills are a plus.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and communication platforms like Zoom and MS Teams.
Experience working collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders across countries and cultures.
