Funded by USAID through the IFRC, the Climate Centre is one of the advisors on the Climate Action Journey towards locally led adaptation.

This program's main goal is to expand locally driven, integrated, and multi-sectoral strategies that can support the development of long-term community resilience to climate change. It will implement a novel, all-encompassing strategy to guarantee revolutionary shifts in the institutional structure, initiatives, and day-to-day activities of the targeted National Societies, making them genuinely "climate-smart" and enabling them to expand validated, fact-based efforts to adapt to climate change.

New nations are setting off on this voyage through Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean in 2024. The overarching goal of these initiatives is to assist communities—including some of the least supported—in lowering the risks associated with climate change and preparing for it.

Accountabilities

In order to assist National Societies in developing National Climate Risk Assessments in response to demand in two project nations, direct, coordinate, and offer technical help.

• To determine whether and how evolving climate risks should be taken into account in two project countries, direct and assist the National Society's climate-smart screening processes for its programmes, operations, plans, and strategies.
• Assist National Societies in two project countries with the formulation of multi-year Climate Strategies by providing technical support.
  overall management of all Climate Action Journey developments, working closely with the project manager
• Encourage the quality monitoring and assessments of all materials created in collaboration with national societies.
  To make sure we produce on time and within budget, we keep an eye on deadlines, budgets, team time writing, and expenses.
