YCJF is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Grantmaking Manager to join our team. As the Grants Manager, you'll play a vital role in supporting our participatory grant-making model while helping to decentralize decision-making processes. Are you interested in working closely with communities affected by the climate crisis?

YCJF supports youth climate justice movements with funding, resources, and capacity development. We launched publicly during New York Climate Week 2023 and received over 1,800 grant applications from around the world. In 2023, we supported 40 groups with an initial $500,000.

The position is remote and preferably located in the Global South. Compensation is $230 per day for full-time work (35 hours per week) plus benefits. The contract is a renewable consultancy contract managed by our Fiscal Sponsor based in the United States.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Leading the preparation and launch of grant application calls.

Distributing applications to regional steering committees.

Providing guidance and support to applicants.

Designing processes for receiving and translating applications.

Leading the implementation of our decentralized grant-making model.

Organizing training sessions for Regional Facilitators and Advisors.

Ensuring timely communication and collaboration among regional boards.

Monitoring, evaluating, and providing suggestions for improvement.

We're looking for someone with:

Over 5 years of experience in social justice philanthropy or movements.

A commitment to advancing social justice, particularly for marginalized groups.

Passion for climate justice and equity.

Excellent communication and facilitation skills.

Experience with online tools and low-bandwidth settings.

Prior experience managing staff and consultants.
