UNFPA is inviting applications for an internship supporting its Women at the Centre initiative, a global effort aimed at strengthening gender-based violence (GBV) case management systems across different regions.

The selected intern will work under the guidance of the Programme Specialist for GBV Response and will play a key role in organizing knowledge-sharing tools, coordinating learning spaces, and helping build a global repository of GBV case management resources.

This position is remote, full-time, and runs for 24 weeks.

About the Role

The intern will contribute to the development of a worldwide platform designed to support practitioners working on GBV response. The responsibilities include managing digital resources, coordinating Community of Practice (CoP) activities, supporting south-south learning exchanges, and assisting with programme documentation and follow-up. The role also involves maintaining online platforms, compiling project updates, preparing meeting notes, and supporting translation needs where applicable.

Throughout the internship, the intern will also engage with country teams, gather information for reporting, and help ensure smooth implementation of the Women at the Centre programme.

Key Tasks

  • Compile and organize GBV case management tools and materials for the global repository

  • Tag, review, upload, and maintain documents in multiple languages

  • Support webinars, learning sessions, and meetings within the Community of Practice

  • Maintain online communication channels and track member participation

  • Assist in project reporting and documentation

  • Coordinate translation and provide French-language support when required

  • Contribute to the overall delivery of the Women at the Centre programme

Expected Outputs

  • A well-structured multilingual repository with properly tagged resources

  • Quarterly updates on repository usage

  • Summaries and notes from CoP activities and country-level follow-up

  • Consolidated project reporting from participating countries

Desired Skills

  • Experience working with development or social impact organisations

  • Strong writing, research, and analytical abilities

  • Fluency in English; strong preference for candidates who also speak French

  • Familiarity with GBV or gender equality initiatives is an added advantage

  • Experience with knowledge-management tools or platforms is useful

  • Ability to work respectfully and collaboratively with colleagues from different cultures

Program Benefits
- UNFPA does not provide a salary. A stipend may be offered to cover basic daily costs, depending on the duty station and whether the intern receives support from another institution. All interns must have valid medical insurance for the entire duration of the internship.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria at the time of application:

- Enrolled in a postgraduate programme

- In the final year of a bachelor’s programme

- Recently graduated (within one year)

- Enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship

-A background in Women’s Studies, Social Work, Social Sciences, or related fields is preferred.
