The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) Uganda office is calling upon vibrant and politically engaged young people to apply for the 2025 cohort of the Young Leaders Forum (YLF). This transformative program is designed to empower young women and men with the knowledge, skills, and motivation needed to champion social justice and promote good governance in Uganda.

The Young Leaders Forum provides an exceptional platform for youth to deepen their understanding of political, social, and economic issues while equipping them with practical skills to make a meaningful impact. Over the course of the program, participants will explore critical topics and gain insights into policy-making, governance, and advocacy.

Program Structure

Spanning from May to October 2025, the YLF will feature a series of eight intensive modules, each lasting two days. These sessions will include interactive lectures, dynamic workshops, and hands-on activities led by experienced professionals and subject matter experts. The program emphasizes active participation, encouraging attendees to engage, exchange ideas, and apply their knowledge to real-world scenarios.

Who Can Apply?

The program seeks applications from individuals who meet the following criteria:

•Nationality: Must be a Ugandan citizen or hold valid residency for non-citizens.

•Age: Applicants must be between 18 and 30 years old.

•Education: A minimum of an “A” level education is required.

•Community Engagement: Candidates should have demonstrated a commitment to public service, advocacy, or community involvement.

Application Procedure
Application Requirements and Process

To apply for the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Young Leaders Forum (YLF) 2025, all applicants must submit the following:
• A detailed and updated CV, including contact information for three referees.
• Copies of your “A” level certificate and any other relevant academic transcripts, if available.
• A motivation letter outlining your reasons for applying, your expectations of the program, and how you plan to use the skills and knowledge gained to create a positive impact in your community.

Important Details
• Deadline: Applications must be submitted by Friday, January 17, 2025.
• Only applications that meet all the requirements and are fully completed will be reviewed.
• Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews, which are provisionally scheduled for April 2025.

2. By Mail: Deliver or post your application in an envelope clearly labeled “FES – YLF intake XII” to the following address:
