Former fellows and scholars of WWF’s Russell E. Train Education for Nature (EFN) Program are invited to apply for the EFN Alumni Grants 2026, a funding opportunity designed to strengthen conservation leadership, scientific capacity, and collaboration across regions.
For more than three decades, EFN has supported over 3,000 conservation leaders across Africa, Asia, and Latin America and the Caribbean. Through this alumni grant initiative, WWF continues to invest in its global network—helping past beneficiaries reconnect, innovate, and expand their impact in their home countries and regions.
Purpose of the Alumni Grants
The grants are designed to help EFN alumni:

Strengthen conservation science skills and leadership

Foster collaboration among alumni within and across countries

Promote knowledge exchange and innovation

Enhance regional and global partnerships
-
Implement community-focused conservation initiatives
Proposals must involve at least two EFN alumni and demonstrate clear benefits to conservation efforts and local communities.
Focus Areas
Applications should address at least one of the following:

Bringing EFN alumni together to build skills or collaborate on shared conservation interests

Developing alumni capacity in conservation science or leadership

Strengthening engagement and belonging within and across regions

Supporting conservation initiatives that create measurable community impact

April – June 2026: Review and selection process

July 2026: Notification of successful applicants

August – September 2026: Contracts finalized and funds disbursed
