The successful candidate will support the Data and Polling Team by contributing to research, analysing polling and survey data, preparing graphs and data visualisations, and assisting with briefings and presentations used in meetings, workshops, and public events. This opportunity offers valuable insight into data-driven policy research and advocacy at one of Europe’s leading foreign policy think tanks. Working at the intersection of international relations and data analysis, the selected candidate will contribute to discussions shaping European foreign policy and global affairs.
Applicants should currently be enrolled in a Master’s programme in Sociology, International Relations, Political Science, or a related field. Graduates are not eligible for this position. Excellent written and spoken English is essential, while knowledge of additional languages is considered an asset.
The ideal candidate should possess strong organisational abilities, attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under demanding deadlines. They should also be capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a multinational and multidisciplinary team environment. Curiosity, initiative, flexibility, and a willingness to learn are highly valued.
The position is offered as a Working Student contract running from September 2026 to June 2027 with a stipend of €14 per hour. The role is based in Berlin, with a convenient office location and partly hybrid working arrangements that support flexibility and collaboration. ECFR offers a stimulating and open work culture within a highly respected pan-European think tank environment, providing the opportunity to work alongside motivated colleagues from diverse backgrounds across Europe.
