Applications are now open for NextUp: Lisbon, a traveling startup event focused on bringing together technology leaders from across the globe to address global challenges.

In order to link entrepreneurs, executives, and IT enthusiasts with Asia and Singapore, they land in a different place every year.

They reaffirm their commitment to advancing inclusion, equity, and diversity in Deep Tech each year. The DeepTech Challenge winners are brought to the Singapore Innovation Ecosystem on a fast-moving delegation.

This year, they co-organize the program with the Singapore-Portugal Innovation Alliance (SPIA).

They are seeking companies involved in sectors such as Data Centers, Environmental Solutions, Healthcare, Nanotechnology, Sustainability, Robotic Systems, Drones, Data Science, Cyber Security Compliance, Food Waste Prevention, AR/VR Solutions, Robotics Software, EdTech, Deep Learning, Quantum Computing, Biotech R&D, Blockchain, Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), and Robotic Process Automation (RPA). Eligible companies should be incorporated and located in Africa, Antarctica, Australia/New Zealand, the Caribbean, Eastern Europe, Europe, the Middle East, North America, or South America.

They should be at the prototype, user, or paying user stage and can be at the Angel, Pre-seed, Seed, or Series A funding stages, regardless of whether they have already raised funds or generated revenue.

On November 14, 2024, at the United Lisbon International School in Lisbon, finalists will be asked to present their ideas in person to a panel of knowledgeable jurors.
The winners will be guaranteed a spot in the Q1 2025 business delegation visiting Singapore's Innovation Ecosystem.

Eligibility Criteria

They encourage deep tech startups founded or co-founded by women, minorities, or those supporting underprivileged communities to apply. Startups with women and minorities in leadership roles are also invited. Additionally, they are open to startups that may not meet these criteria but are committed to challenging the status quo and promoting diversity and inclusion. In essence, the DeepTech Challenge is open to anyone actively advocating for greater gender, social, and ethnic diversity in science and technology.
