Young Water Professionals with high potential who are just starting out are targeted by the IWA LeaP Programme in order to:
Change the way they lead by giving them the ability to think and act internationally.

Concerning the Programme
Join the International Water Association's Leadership Programme for Young Water Professionals, or IWA LeaP, and set off on a life-changing adventure. This programme is your ticket to reaching your full potential as a professional, broadening your horizons, and being empowered in your field. Twelve outstanding young water professionals from various locations and backgrounds are invited to take up the leadership challenge by participating in IWA LeaP.
Driven by inquisitiveness and bravery, participants will embark on a life-changing experience. You will develop strong professional networks and improve your leadership abilities over the course of a year to become the leader you want to be. This comprehensive programme serves as a launchpad for implementing significant change. Living the experience is just as important as learning.
As you advance your strategic vision and leadership skills, get ready to face challenges, be rewarded, and feel empowered.
A four-day retreat in the isolated mountains of November 2024.
Preparation and project time take four hours every month.
five hours each month in project team meetings, coaching, or virtual learning.
September 2025: one online session.

Candidates must be skilled in the English language in order to participate in reading and conversation.
At the time of application, applicants had to have been an active member of IWA for a minimum of one year.
During the application process, candidates must exhibit their leadership experience and aptitude (e.g., by presenting their professional accomplishments, highlighting their leadership responsibilities in academia, IWA, or their organisation, volunteering extensively, etc.).
Candidates should exhibit a strong dedication to promoting constructive change in the water industry. This dedication should be supported by a history of producing influential and original ideas in the industry.
