WITH FUNDED TRIP TO U.K: Apply for the 2024 Thomson Foundation Young Journalist Awards
The Thomson Foundation, in collaboration with the UK Foreign Press Association (FPA), is currently accepting entries for the Young Journalist Award. This prestigious award offers international recognition and opportunities to connect with global editors, as past winner Yara discovered. Her award led to publications in The Guardian and a visit to their London headquarters.
To enter, submit a portfolio of three published or broadcast pieces produced within the last 12 months (before August 9th, 2024). Entries can be in various formats: print, audio, video, multimedia, or a combination. The award is open to journalists aged 30 and under from countries with a Gross National Income (GNI) per capita below USD 20,000.
Entrants must submit:
- A portfolio of three published/broadcast pieces
- A written statement (max 200 words per story) summarizing the content and its impact on public debate
- An explanation of any collaboration with colleagues/external organizations
- Entries can be in any language, but must include a verbatim English translation
