Fully Funded to Baku : Apply Young Peacebuilders Programme in South Caucasus and Central Asia – 8th Edition
The 8th iteration of the Young Peacebuilders programme in the South Caucasus and Central Asia (SCCA) 2024–2025 aims to give young people in the region more tools to combat prejudice, xenophobia, and stereotypes while also giving them access to global and regional networks for peacebuilding and increasing awareness of their creative and successful peace work. The incorporation of youth peacebuilders into official peace processes and policies is the ultimate objective.
The Republic of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with UNAOC, announced the Peace4Culture Global Call initiative, which will serve as the foundation for the implementation of this eighth edition.
In order to create more inclusive and peaceful societies and address the causes of violent extremism, the goal is to assist the development of networks of young people who are committed to promoting peace and who possess the necessary skills to confront prejudice, polarisation, and stereotypes.
The programme is divided into four sections: three to four months of online instruction, seven to eight days of in-person instruction, three months of applied learning, and a results-sharing symposium. In addition to working on their action plan and attending an in-person workshop, participants in the course access it via an online platform. Along with sharing their experiences and implementing a personal peace initiative, they also engage in intercultural dialogue, peace, and security with practitioners, politicians, the media, and the general public.
Twenty chosen participants will learn about stereotypes and how to evaluate them critically in order to lessen their occurrence during the training.
