FULLY FUNDED TO MUNICH ,GERMANY : Apply for the Climate Adaptation Innovation Accelerator Programme

The Climate Adaptation Innovation Accelerator Programme has been launched by the WFP Innovation Accelerator as part of the Adaptation Fund Climate Innovation Accelerator (AFCIA) cooperation, with assistance from the Adaptation Fund.Through the Climate adaption Innovation Accelerator Programme, the WFP Innovation Accelerator and the Adaptation Fund are collaborating to improve climate adaption and gender equity, promote inclusive economic possibilities, involve youth, and build community resilience.The programme aims to enhance local, regional, and international collaborations, broaden the understanding of climate adaptation, and provide sustainable solutions for vulnerable populations.By doing so, it will contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals and foster a more resilient future for communities across the globe. It does this by providing support for innovative climate innovations.

The WFP Innovation Accelerator seeks both low- and high-tech solutions to address specific climate adaptation challenges within the food system value chain in Egypt, Jordan, and Lebanon.

For Egypt:
- Climate Information Services: Affordable, online and offline early warning solutions to provide weather information to remote smallholder farmers for adapting to extreme climate conditions.
- Desalination Solutions: Low-cost, off-grid, climate-friendly technologies for desalinating groundwater for agricultural use.
- Drought-Tolerant Crops: Low-cost, accessible, non-GMO crop varieties that are resilient and productive in water-scarce areas, and suitable for saline soils.
- Smart Irrigation: Affordable solutions to optimize water usage, monitor soil moisture, identify crop needs, or automate water delivery based on real-time data.
- Organic Fertilizers: Low-cost organic fertilizers or solutions that convert biomass and organic waste into high-quality agricultural inputs for smallholder farmers.
- Processing Units: Affordable off-grid units to extend shelf life, reduce post-harvest losses, and minimize food loss.
- Adaptive Livelihoods: Solutions that help vulnerable communities adopt climate-adaptive livelihoods, create youth employment, and promote eco-friendly practices.

For Jordan:
- Soil Conditioners: Solutions to enhance water retention and boost productivity in arid regions.
- Complementary Irrigation: Affordable and easy-to-implement technologies to improve water efficiency and agricultural productivity.
- Drought-Tolerant Crops: Non-GMO crop varieties that enhance resilience and productivity in water-scarce and saline soil conditions.
- Water Management: Innovative technologies to reduce evaporation, improve water use efficiency, or affordable water harvesting systems.
- Processing Units: Off-grid units for horticultural production to extend shelf life and reduce post-harvest losses.
- Waste Conversion: Solutions to convert agricultural and organic waste into affordable agricultural inputs or animal feed.
- Market Links: Solutions that aggregate supply from smallholder farmers and establish transparent, fair links to higher markets.

For Lebanon:
- Precision Agriculture: Real-time monitoring solutions for soil moisture, temperature, crop health, soil conditions, or pest activity, enabling precise resource use.
- Irrigation Technologies: Affordable, off-grid solutions to reduce water usage and enhance productivity and resilience in remote areas.
- Livestock Management: Solutions for pastoralists to manage pests, diseases, and monitor livestock health and behavior in real-time.
- Innovative Financing: Financing solutions for smallholder farmers and agro-processors to ensure sustainable climate resilience or quick and transparent weather-indexed insurance payouts.
- Eco-Friendly Pest Control: Sustainable solutions to eliminate pests and pathogens, protecting crops and enhancing soil health.
- Cold Storage: Affordable, off-grid mobile storage solutions to improve food preservation and reduce post-harvest losses in areas without reliable electricity.
- Waste Conversion: Solutions to convert agricultural and food waste into affordable inputs like compost, biochar, organic fertilizers, or animal feed.

Sprint Programme, a six-month programme that combines technical support from the WFP Innovation Accelerator with business-focused training and mentoring.

Eight to ten firms who are accepted into the sprint programme will have access to over US$ 1 million in equity-free capital through competitive grants, which are determined by the stage of your solution:
$120,000 USD maximum per venture for solutions in the seed stage.
Up to US$ 200,000 per venture for solutions in the growth and expansion stages.
exposure to both domestic and foreign financiers via an online pitch session at the program's conclusion.
Eligibility Criteria
Your company needs to be a legitimately recognised organisation (for-profit, not-for-profit, social enterprise, NGO, INGO).
In one of the three implementation nations (Lebanon, Jordan, or Egypt), your organisation should be present or willing to establish a presence. This might take the shape of a national office or another kind of long-term operational partnership, subsidiary, or permanent presence in the nation.
Your invention tackles at least one of the high-priority issues listed above that are associated with the urgent problems the implementing nation has in the domain of climate adaptation.

You have to have at least seed stage innovation. Ideas, research projects, and early pre-seed solutions are not accepted.
Your idea should have a well-defined road to expansion, sufficient resources, and a suggested implementation strategy to be carried out with the allotted funds over the six-month Sprint Programme.
It is anticipated that applicants would be highly motivated to work with pertinent humanitarian partners, establish connections with national offices, and engage with innovation ecosystems.
Interventions that fall within the environmental and social sustainability framework's Category A classification, which indicates a high risk of permanent negative effects, will not be allowed.
