Apply for Accelerate Africa Program (Cohort 3) – Funding

Accelerate Africa, a pre-seed/seed stage accelerator program, is currently accepting applications. It helps ambitious and visionary founders turn our shared challenges into international businesses by connecting them with clients, resources, advisors, and networks that will put them on track to make $1 million within 12 to 18 months of finishing.

Accelerate Africa runs several cohorts each year, supporting up to 10 startups over an 11-week period. They select startups from across the African continent to receive assistance in areas like storytelling, team development, go-to-market strategies, product development, and fundraising.

They believe that founders who can transform Africa’s greatest challenges into global businesses come from diverse backgrounds, abilities, languages, genders, ages, ethnicities, and more. As a result, 40% of the founders they have supported are women, ranging in age from their 20s to 60s, and representing over 10 African countries. The founders they work with share some key traits:

  • A strong passion for solving real problems, backed by a proven track record or measurable progress
  • A deep understanding of their customers, viewing it as their life’s work to serve them
  • Personal experience with the problem they are solving, which drives them to build a business that might seem impossible until it’s achieved

Don't miss out on the application deadline which is 7 January 2025.

Program Benefits
First, they will select 10 founders to receive guidance from two of Africa's top founders and investors, who have successfully built, advised, invested in, and exited multiple businesses across the continent.

Second, their program is tailored to meet the unique needs of founders in Africa, offering workshops in five core areas, coaching from top advisors, and support through tech, legal, and finance clinics during office hours. Founders can also build a community through fireside chats, attend in-person events during the welcome week, and prepare for demo day during the final week.

**Funding Information**

Unlike many other accelerators, they do not provide funding or take equity upon admission. However, their fund, Future Africa, may invest alongside their extensive network of investors, potentially offering a pre-seed or seed stage investment of $250,000 to $500,000 after the program. This will follow their standard investment process, which includes due diligence and an Investment Committee (IC) vote. Additionally, a standard deal will be offered by Accelerate Africa, though there is no obligation to accept it.
