Climate Mobility Pavilion at COP29 Overview
The Global Centre for Climate Mobility (GCCM) is organizing the Climate Mobility Pavilion (CMP) at COP29, scheduled to take place in Baku from November 11 to 22. The CMP will serve as a key venue for highlighting the critical issue of climate-induced migration and displacement, emphasizing the importance of climate actions that prioritize people.
CMP Youth Programme
As part of the Africa Climate Mobility Initiative, the Rising Nations Initiative, and the Greater Caribbean Climate Mobility Initiative, GCCM is inviting applications for the CMP Youth Programme, which offers an opportunity for young people to participate in COP29 as CMP Youth Delegates.
The program aims to unite a diverse group of young individuals to drive climate action, particularly in regions most vulnerable to climate impacts. Selected delegates will receive training, speaking engagements, and the chance to engage in meetings with policymakers, climate advocates, and representatives from various sectors, including philanthropy and civil society.
Up to 30 youth delegates will be chosen, with the selection process ensuring gender balance and a wide range of experiences related to climate impacts and mobility, particularly from highly affected communities. The program will cover travel expenses (economy-class airfare) and accommodation for the selected delegates during COP29.
