The Aspen Institute Germany is launching the Future Cities Go Glocal Initiative to enhance urban resilience in the face of pressing challenges like climate change, energy insecurity, migration, social inequality, and infrastructure deficits. This program aims to facilitate knowledge sharing, network building, and policy development among city stakeholders from Berlin, New Delhi, Nairobi, and Mexico City, promoting sustainable and inclusive urban growth.

Five urban leaders from each city will engage in a cross-border exchange, bringing their expertise to address climate change, energy security, and sustainability. This initiative recognizes the critical role cities play in shaping a just and sustainable future, as they are home to over half of the global population and consume a significant portion of the world's energy and resources.

The program will explore strategies for climate resilience, energy supply, and social equity, including:

- Climate change adaptation and mitigation measures
- Designing climate-resilient cities
- Managing social costs of electricity generation
- Leveraging renewable energy potential

Through virtual and in-person meetings, site visits, and collaborative publication development, participants will engage in a dynamic dialogue on future cities, shaping policy recommendations for sustainable urban development.
