The Energy Accelerator Program, part of the Timbuktoo Greentech Hub, has launched its call for applications. This program focuses on renewable energy technologies that provide decentralized, accessible, and sustainable solutions, aiming to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and improve energy security across African communities.

The initiative seeks to back businesses developing innovative solutions in renewable energy generation, storage, access, and energy efficiency, tailored to meet Africa's specific needs. Its goal is to address urgent energy challenges and contribute to a more sustainable and prosperous future for the continent.

Program Benefits

The timbuktoo GreenTech Hub and ecosystem across Africa offer membership, mentorship, technical support, a regulatory sandbox, blended financing options, networking with potential partners and customers, investor networks, resources, and support to accelerate growth and impact. Members can access networks within the UN system and the AfCTA system, and can impact a pan-African Greentech evolution. Equity-free funding is also available to support startups' growth. This membership is designed to accelerate the development of green tech in Africa.

Eligibility Criteria

startups that have African nationals as their founders.
Startups need to be operating within Africa and legally registered.
Startups had to have been up and running for at least three years.
Startups have to deal with development issues.
It has to be a technologically enabled answer.
A Minimum Viable Solution (MVS), if required, must be regulated and licensed for startups.
Startups ought to have accountability and corporate governance in place.
Only citizens of the member states of the African Union are eligible to apply.
