Are you in the 18–30 age range? Do you think young people should have more influence in civic and democratic settings? If you said "yes," here is your ideal chance!

The Consortium for Elections and Political Process Strengthening (CEPPS) seeks five young leaders from around the globe to support youth-focused democracy, rights, and governance (DRG) initiatives through its DEPP Youth Advisory Council (YAC).

This council aims to enhance the integration of youth priorities within DRG efforts led by CEPPS under the DEPP Leader with Associates Award (LWA), increasing its relevance and impact for diverse youth communities.

The YAC members will participate over a 10-month term, from approximately December 2024 to September 2025, helping CEPPS develop strategies that foster sustainable and inclusive youth engagement in DRG programs.

After completing the tasks outlined in the ToR, each member of the DEPP Youth Advisory Council will be given a $3,000 stipend. Starting on December 1, 2024, the job will last for ten months.
Eligibility Criteria
The ideal candidate for the DEPP Youth Advisory Council should have the following skills and qualifications:

- Aged between 18 and 30 years old;
- A national from one of the following regions: Europe/Eurasia, Middle East/North Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa, or Asia;
- Proven leadership in civic and/or political engagement;
- A solid understanding of the significance of encouraging youth political and/or civic participation and leadership, along with strategies to promote this goal;
- Demonstrated involvement and leadership in one or more sectors, such as health, business, gender equity, social inclusion, education, peace and security, climate, and environmental sustainability;
- Experience in designing and implementing initiatives at the local and/or national levels that promote or enhance the participation of youth and marginalized groups in politics, electoral processes, and civic life;
- A strong grasp of inclusive, intersectional approaches when working with diverse groups of young people who have multiple marginalized identities;
- Experience collaborating with a variety of stakeholders, including civil society organizations, universities, local and national government agencies, political parties, businesses, and development actors;
- Some experience in research and monitoring and evaluation is preferred but not mandatory;
- Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, and writing);
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills;
- Self-motivated and creative; and
- Access to a reliable internet connection.
