The 2025 World Bank Accountability Mechanism (AM) Dispute Resolution Service (DRS) Internship is now accepting applications. Highly motivated young professionals from the global south get the chance to learn more about the goals and activities of the World Bank Accountability Mechanism (AM) through the Dispute Resolution Service (DRS).
Location: Washington, DC
Cost: Fully funded
Duration: Six months
Visa: Assistance will be provided to successful candidates for obtaining the necessary work visa for the internship period.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Collecting information from both internal (World Bank Group) and external sources (such as media, NGOs, and Borrowers) on projects, current events, activities, research, and articles related to Dispute Resolution Service (DRS) operations.
- Conducting background research on dispute-related issues concerning the environment, gender equality, and indigenous identity.
- Assisting DRS staff with case-related tasks, including research, case filing, note-taking, and analysis of DRS cases.
- Uploading case-related data to the Case Management System (CMS) and ensuring all relevant details, including correspondence, call and meeting notes, and documents, are recorded in the system under DRS staff supervision.
- Offering logistical support and contributing to the management of cases, presentations, and outreach events. Attending and documenting both internal and external meetings as required.
- Maintaining strict confidentiality regarding all activities involving the Accountability Mechanism and the Dispute Resolution Service.

Eligibility Criteria
A degree in a relevant field, such as law or social sciences, with a focus on dispute resolution or accountability in an international context is required. Advanced academic qualifications or relevant professional experience will be viewed favorably.
An interest in community-level development, as well as social and environmental issues, is essential.
A strong desire to work in an international setting, with an understanding of complex geopolitical and cultural differences, is important.
Excellent organizational and research abilities are necessary.
The ability to work effectively within a multicultural team and build strong relationships with colleagues is key.
Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required. A tailored cover letter should accompany your application, explaining why you are a strong candidate for the position.
Proficiency in an additional language (e.g., French, Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese, Swahili, or other languages relevant to the Accountability Mechanism) is a plus.
Willingness to travel and adapt to flexible working hours is essential.
