With a USD 10,000 grand prize : Apply for the 2025 NGFP Fellowship

The Next Generation Foresight Practitioners (NGFP) Fellowship is currently accepting applications for its 2025 cohort. Interested candidates must submit their applications by 23:59 GMT+1 on July 31, 2025.

Each year, the NGFP Fellowship invites a diverse group of emerging changemakers—young professionals and teams aged 18–35, as well as individuals over 35 with less than one year of experience in the futures and foresight field—to embark on a year-long journey of learning, collaboration, and project development.

Foresight is a structured method for navigating uncertainty by imagining various future possibilities, including aspirational scenarios. Rather than predicting the future, it focuses on understanding both current and future environments. This approach equips individuals, organizations, and communities to better respond to emerging challenges and opportunities, fostering greater adaptability, resilience, and strategic insight.

The Fellowship seeks early-career foresight practitioners who are using futures thinking in collaborative and socially or environmentally beneficial ways.

The Fellowship especially encourages applications addressing complex global challenges—referred to as Foresight Transformation Missions—such as:

  • Climate and Just Transitions

  • Democracy and Sustainable Development

  • Emerging Technologies

  • Indigenous and Global Foresight Methods

  • Intergenerational Fairness

  • Nuclear Security

  • Peacebuilding

Although the program is highly competitive with only 25 fellowship positions available annually, top candidates who are not selected are invited to join the NGFP Sensing Network, a growing community of over 900 global foresight practitioners.

Regional Fellowships:

  • One Fellowship slot is reserved for a candidate from the Balkans, honoring the late Sophie Middlemiss

  • Two Fellowship spots are designated for the Middle East and North Africa, supported by the Dubai Future Foundation

Key Dates:

  • Applications Open: May 1, 2025

  • Deadline to Apply: July 31, 2025

  • Judging Period: August to October 2025

  • Fellows Announced: November 2025

Interested candidates must submit their applications by 23:59 GMT+1 on July 31, 2025.

Don't miss out on the application deadline which is 23:59 GMT+1 on July 31, 2025.
