Are you enthusiastic about education and want to make a difference? The SDG4 Youth & Student Network, which is managed by UNESCO, is looking for the next generation of young education leaders for 2026-2027.

About the SDG4 Youth & Student Network
The SDG4 Youth & Student Network is an international platform uniting young changemakers and professionals who are passionate about transforming education globally. Supported by UNESCO, the Network enables its members to actively shape educational policy and drive initiatives that push forward the goal of ensuring inclusive, high-quality learning opportunities for all.

Through participation in conferences, collaborative ventures, and training sessions, the Network provides a space for youth and students to engage meaningfully in shaping educational futures. It also serves as the recognized youth and student voice within the SDG4 High-Level Steering Committee—an influential body that brings together education ministers, civil society leaders, global organizations, funders, and private entities.

Those selected join as independent contributors for a term spanning two years—from January 2026 through December 2027. Prior to their official start, newly selected members will engage in preparatory activities with current members between October and December 2025.

Role and Responsibilities of Members

Participants in the SDG4 Youth & Student Network actively contribute to driving forward global goals in education. Their involvement includes various activities such as:

• Forming specialized teams focused on key education themes—like equity in education, sustainability learning, emergency education, global citizenship, or digital and AI-enhanced learning. These groups collaborate to develop policy materials, host educational events, and lead awareness campaigns to champion accessible and inclusive learning for all.

• Choosing regional delegates who form part of the Network’s Executive Committee, which oversees coordination, decision-making, and acts as the liaison with UNESCO.

• Two members from this Executive Committee are selected to represent young people and students within the SDG4 High-Level Steering Committee. Their role involves gathering input from the wider network and ensuring youth perspectives shape global education policies and decision-making forums.

Network members are expected to regularly contribute time and effort toward consultations, campaigns, working group activities, and attend monthly meetings.

Membership is unpaid and voluntary. Being part of the Network does not imply any formal employment relationship with UNESCO, nor does it grant the right to use its name or branding.

The application deadline is on a rolling basis.
