Civics Innovation Hub has opened a new round of applications for its Civic Innovation Fund (CIF).

Across Europe and beyond, civic education is confronted with critical challenges: restoring public trust, reinforcing democratic systems, and addressing issues such as isolation, youth radicalisation, and growing social divides. Through this funding call, we are looking for initiatives that go beyond simply highlighting these concerns. We want projects that can experiment with real solutions, explore fresh methods, and generate lessons for the wider civic education field.

Successful applicants will be awarded up to €10,000 to test, develop, or expand their ideas over a 12-month implementation period. Each proposal should contribute to at least one of the following themes: trust in civic education (connected to all NECE activities in 2026, including the NECE Festival), strengthening democratic resilience, tackling loneliness and radicalisation among young people, or addressing polarisation and supporting peace-building efforts with divided communities.

The deadline for submitting applications is 20 October at 11:59 pm CEST.
