Applications are now open for the Local Conference of Youth on Climate Change (LCOY26), taking place from October 16 to 18, 2026, in Munich, Germany. The conference brings together young people to connect, learn, exchange ideas and take part in discussions around climate action and the future of the planet.

The conference is open to young people aged 14 to 30. Participants under the age of 16 can attend when joining as part of a group or accompanied by someone over 18. Participation is completely free of charge, with the organisers covering the full conference programme, meals, accommodation and activities.

LCOY26 will take place in Munich, with check-in beginning at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 16. Participants are encouraged to arrive around this time to avoid missing any part of the programme. An English-language programme will run throughout the conference, allowing participants with little or no German to participate fully.

Participants will receive vegan breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout the conference, along with drinking water. Attendees are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle to help reduce unnecessary waste. Free overnight accommodation will also be provided in gyms and classrooms. Registration for the accommodation will open separately.

Participants should bring a sleeping bag and sleeping mat for the overnight stay. The organisers also provide information on financial support that may be available to help cover travel costs to and from the conference.

LCOY26 offers young people an opportunity to meet like-minded participants, gain new perspectives on climate issues, contribute to discussions and enjoy a youth-focused programme in Munich.
