Applications are now open for the 2026 EDSAFE AI Alliance Fellowships — a transformative program designed to empower education leaders and technologists to shape the future of safe, equitable, and effective AI in learning. This one-year global fellowship brings together around 30 fellows from diverse regions to participate in expert-led virtual workshops, develop an impact-driven capstone project, and engage in mentorship and network-building. The program is offered in two distinct tracks: the Catalyst Fellowship for education sector professionals and the Women in AI Fellowship for women technologists and education leaders committed to responsible AI innovation in education.

Additional Information
Participants will engage in a year-long series of interactive online workshops covering critical topics such as AI in education, ethics, policy, and the SAFE (Safety, Accountability, Fairness, Efficacy) framework. Fellows will join a vibrant global community of about 30 leaders from diverse backgrounds, fostering peer learning and collaboration.
Each fellow will design and implement a capstone project applying what they’ve learned to a real-world educational context, helping to create more ethical, inclusive, and impactful uses of AI. In addition, fellows will receive mentorship, professional visibility, and access to the EDSAFE AI global network — connecting them to experts, policymakers, and innovators shaping the responsible use of AI in education.
The fellowship welcomes professionals from around the world who demonstrate a strong interest in the intersection of education, AI, and equity.
For the Catalyst Fellowship, applicants should be working in education—whether in schools, government, policy, research, or the private sector—and be in positions to influence how AI is integrated into learning systems. They should show leadership potential and a commitment to advancing AI solutions that prioritize learner well-being and fairness.
For the Women in AI Fellowship, applicants must be women working in or leading technology or education initiatives who seek to design and deploy equitable AI tools in learning contexts. They should have experience in education technology, AI ethics, data science, or related areas and be eager to develop innovative projects promoting inclusion and safety in AI.
All applicants must be able to commit to participating in the virtual sessions, complete a micro-capstone project in their own context, and attend at least one in-person event during the year. The program is open globally to applicants from all countries.
