The FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund is now accepting applications from grassroots organizations dedicated to improving access to quality education and sports for children in underserved communities. This global initiative, launched in partnership between FIFA and Global Citizen, seeks to empower local changemakers who are helping young people learn, grow, and thrive through inclusive and sustainable education initiatives.

Successful applicants will receive one-time funding to strengthen their programs or core operations that address key educational challenges, promote equity, and harness the power of sports to transform lives.

• Cycle I Funding: Approximately 150 organizations will be selected in 2026

Selection Priorities

Applications will be reviewed based on the following key criteria:

• Addressing Barriers to Learning: Initiatives that reduce financial and infrastructural obstacles to education.

• Inclusivity: Programs fostering equitable access, particularly for girls, children with disabilities, and marginalized groups.

• Child Safeguarding: Demonstrated commitment to child protection and well-being.

• Financial and Organizational Capacity: Proven stability through audits or verified financial records (minimum 3 years).

• Community Involvement: Strong local engagement and ownership in project design and implementation.

• Sustainability: Potential to leverage additional resources and create lasting educational impact.
