Applications are open for the Climate Democracy Accelerator (CDA), a global programme designed to strengthen participation, equity, and community leadership in climate action.

The initiative invites government bodies and civil society organisations to join a new cohort that will design and launch inclusive climate programmes rooted in local realities.

The accelerator runs over six months, offering participants a structured pathway to develop projects in areas such as regenerative agriculture, renewable energy, and just transitions. Each selected team receives tailored support to build participatory climate solutions that elevate community voices and strengthen public trust.

Who Should Apply

Applications are open to:

• Government institutions

• Civil society organisations

• Non-governmental organisations

While the programme has a global reach, priority will be given to applicants from Brazil, India, Indonesia, Mexico, and South Africa. Teams must include members with professional proficiency in English, French, Spanish, or Portuguese.

Programme Timeline

• 7 October – 30 November 2025: Application window

• December 2025: Selection phase

• January 2026: Notification of selected participants

• February–March 2026: Onboarding and due diligence

• March–August 2026: Training period

• September 2026 – August 2027: Implementation of action plans

During the core training period (March–August 2026), participants should expect to dedicate 2–3 hours per week to complete coursework, attend live workshops, and engage in mentorship activities. Afterward, teams will have 12 months to roll out their action plan using the grant.

What Participants Will Do

Selected teams will:

• Design a participatory climate project

• Engage local stakeholders and marginalised communities

• Attend workshops, peer-learning sessions, and mentoring

• Report on progress and share lessons with the wider cohort
