Application are open for the Amos Climate Fellowship 2026–2027 cohort, offering a year-long, community-centered fellowship for young women actively engaged in climate justice and territorial defense in Mexico and Central America.

This fellowship is designed to support women who are already working on the frontlines of climate action—protecting land, water, ecosystems, and community rights—by providing financial support, mentorship, and collective learning spaces to strengthen locally rooted climate justice projects.

The programme supports 12 young women land defenders and climate activists who have a clear project idea that can be implemented over a six-month period within their own communities. Rather than focusing on academic research, the fellowship prioritizes lived experience, grassroots leadership, and practical action grounded in territory, culture, and feminist values.

Fellowship Focus

Supported projects should address one or more of the following:

• Reducing women’s vulnerability to climate change through community knowledge, tools, or adaptive practices

• Strengthening women’s leadership and participation in climate action

• Defending threatened ecosystems and territories through a gender and justice lens

Projects may be new initiatives or expansions of existing community work that lack resources for implementation.

Fellowship Timeline
