Selected teams in the Accelerator Programme receive comprehensive support to refine and scale their solutions. This includes tailored mentoring from multidisciplinary experts, guidance on building robust scaling strategies, and facilitation of partnerships across sectors. Teams will also participate in strategy development workshops where they build and test plans for broader impact. A limited number of teams with the strongest scaling strategies are typically awarded grant funding to implement their plans and additional technical support to help bring their innovations to scale. 

To qualify for the UN Global Pulse Accelerator Programme, applicants must be teams that are led or co-led by one or more United Nations entities (such as agencies, funds, or programmes). The innovation solution must have been piloted at least once in its relevant context, with evidence showing positive outcomes from that pilot phase. Eligible solutions should demonstrate readiness to transition to scale — meaning there’s a clear plan for how the solution can reach more people or influence wider systems. Solutions must involve data, digital technologies, and/or AI as enabling components (though approaches can be low-tech, high-tech, or hybrid), and clearly show alignment with cross-cutting themes like human rights, gender equality, diversity, and inclusion. Additionally, projects are expected to address development or humanitarian challenges in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and show how they will create broad impact.
