Applications are now invited for the SDGs Advocate Programme (Cohort 8)—a dynamic leadership and capacity-building initiative aimed at empowering young Nigerians to champion sustainable development across the country.

The programme is structured to strengthen youth engagement in advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by equipping participants with practical skills in advocacy, community mobilization, project design, and impact monitoring.

About the Programme

The SDGs Advocate Programme is a four-month intensive training and advocacy experience designed to cultivate a nationwide network of youth leaders committed to driving measurable progress on the SDGs.

What Participants Will Do

Selected advocates will:

  • Lead or support SDG-focused community projects

  • Mobilize peers toward sustainable action

  • Promote SDG awareness in schools and communities

  • Monitor and document local development efforts

  • Contribute to a youth-driven accountability framework for SDG implementation

Programme Structure

The four-month programme combines:

  • Structured virtual and/or in-person training sessions

  • Practical field-based advocacy projects

  • Peer collaboration and mentorship

  • Impact reporting and knowledge sharing

By the end of the programme, participants will emerge as empowered SDG ambassadors capable of influencing policy conversations, inspiring grassroots action, and contributing meaningfully to Nigeria’s sustainable development journey.

Eligibility Criteria
The programme is open to Nigerian youth aged 18–35 years, including:

- Graduates

- Serving corps members

- Undergraduate and postgraduate students

- Members of youth-led organizations

- Emerging community leaders and social entrepreneurs

Applicants should demonstrate a strong commitment to social impact, sustainable development, and community engagement.
