Applications are open for youth-led organizations and climate advocates planning to host a Local Conference of Youth (LCOY) in their country in 2026. Young leaders committed to advancing climate action at the local and national level are invited to submit an application outlining their vision, goals, and proposed plans. While submissions do not need to present fully finalized concepts, applicants are expected to provide sufficient detail to clearly demonstrate their strategy, intended impact, and approach to organizing an inclusive and meaningful LCOY.

They strongly encourage collaboration among young people working toward organizing LCOYs. Applicants are advised to connect with other potential organizers within their country and consider submitting a joint application that reflects shared leadership and coordinated efforts. Building partnerships will strengthen proposals and ensure broader youth representation in national climate discussions.

All applications will be carefully evaluated by the YOUNGO LCOY Working Group. To ensure fairness and avoid conflicts of interest, members of the Working Group will review applications from regions other than their own. If additional clarification is required, shortlisted applicants may be invited to a 15-minute virtual meeting to provide further details about their proposal. An invitation to this meeting does not indicate approval but serves as part of the evaluation process.

Applicants are reminded that submissions generated using artificial intelligence will be automatically denied. The final deadline for applications is March 10, 2026 at 11:59pm UTC. Applications submitted after this deadline will not be considered, except for resubmissions specifically requested by the LCOY Working Group. All applicants will be informed of the results on March 31.
