FUNDING UP TO $75,000 : Apply for the Global Climate Intervention Grant 2026

Innovators advancing bold responses to climate change are invited to apply for the Global Climate Intervention Grant 2026, offered by the Climate Intervention Environmental Impact Fund (CIEIF).

Through this funding round, three grants of up to $75,000 each will be awarded to support predictive environmental impact assessments (EIA), impact modeling studies, and stakeholder engagement efforts linked to small-scale field tests of emerging climate intervention technologies.

About the Grant

The fund exists to strengthen independent, objective environmental review in the climate intervention space. Rather than financing technology deployment itself, the grant specifically backs:

  • Predictive environmental impact assessments

  • Environmental and technical impact modeling

  • Stakeholder engagement (including local communities, regulators, and affected groups)

  • Preparatory analysis required before conducting a small-scale field test

Projects that do not focus primarily on at least one of these areas will not be considered.

Funding Details

  • Grant amount: Up to $75,000 per award

  • Number of grants: Three

  • Decision announcement: Expected by May 1, 2026

  • Funding structure: Disbursed in three installments tied to agreed milestones

Selected applicants may receive advisory dialogue with CIEIF experts to refine environmental review and stakeholder engagement approaches. Repeat annual funding may be possible for qualifying projects.

What the Application Must Address

Applicants are required to submit a concise proposal (maximum 20 single-spaced pages, 12-point font, English only) that clearly outlines:

  1. Contact details and biosketches of all team members

  2. A detailed description of the proposed field test and prior research

  3. Anticipated environmental, economic, social, or public health considerations

  4. Required permits and regulatory approvals

  5. Publications supporting feasibility and scalability

  6. Identification of independent consulting firms for EIA or modeling

  7. A clear budget explaining how the $75,000 will be allocated

  8. Other funding sources supporting the project

  9. Insurance coverage (if applicable)

  10. A commitment to publishing results

Publication—either in a peer-reviewed journal or through an independently reviewed report—is a key selection criterion.

Important Notes

  • There is no standard application template.

  • Applicants are advised to contact the fund manager before submission for guidance on delivery.

  • All submissions will be kept confidential.

  • Grantees must acknowledge the fund publicly and agree to be listed on the organization’s website.

This opportunity is particularly relevant for climate innovators working on scalable technologies with global significance, especially those seeking to responsibly test new approaches while ensuring rigorous environmental oversight.

Don't miss out on the application deadline which is March 15, 2026.
