FULLY FUNDED TO GERMANY : Apply for the Einstein Forum & Wittenstein Foundation Fellowship 2027

Applications are now open for the 2027 fellowship jointly offered by the Einstein Forum and the Wittenstein Foundation. This prestigious programme is designed for exceptional young thinkers interested in exploring ideas beyond the boundaries of their primary academic discipline.

The fellowship supports innovative, interdisciplinary projects inspired by the intellectual curiosity associated with Albert Einstein.

Location: Caputh, Brandenburg (near Berlin and Potsdam)

About the Fellowship

The programme is intended for individuals who have demonstrated excellence in their field but are also eager to explore new intellectual directions. Rather than continuing existing academic work, fellows are encouraged to pursue fresh, original ideas in a different discipline.

This opportunity provides time and space for deep thinking, creativity, and interdisciplinary exploration in a quiet academic setting close to some of Germany’s leading universities and research institutions.

What Makes a Strong Application

Successful candidates typically present proposals that:

  • Show originality and creativity

  • Demonstrate feasibility within the fellowship period

  • Reflect intellectual depth and interdisciplinary thinking

The proposed project does not need to be completed during the fellowship but should represent a meaningful starting point for a longer-term idea.

Don't miss out on the application deadline which is 15 May 2026.
