Applications are open for the AstraZeneca Young Health Programme (YHP) Scholarships 2026, an international opportunity supporting emerging leaders to participate in the AFS Youth Assembly 2026, scheduled to take place in Geneva from August 12–14, 2026.

Delivered through a collaboration between AFS Intercultural Programs and AstraZeneca, the scholarship aims to empower young changemakers working at the intersection of health, climate, and sustainable development.

About the Opportunity

The scholarship is designed for young leaders who are actively engaged in addressing global challenges such as health inequities, climate impacts on health, and strengthening health systems. Selected participants will join a diverse global cohort to exchange ideas, build skills, and contribute to solutions that shape a healthier and more sustainable future.

The 2026 Assembly theme, “Rise. Reimagine. Rebuild: A World for All,” will guide discussions on inclusive development, climate resilience, education, and global cooperation.

Focus Areas

Applicants are expected to demonstrate involvement or interest in at least one of the following areas:

• Health Equity: Expanding access to healthcare and preventing non-communicable diseases

• Climate & Nature Action: Addressing the health impacts of climate change

• Health Systems Resilience: Strengthening systems to respond to current and future health challenges
