Applications are now open for the Spring 2026 NDC Youth Ambassador Program, a short-term global initiative designed to empower young people to engage directly with climate policy. The programme is led by Care About Climate, an organization focused on increasing youth participation in international climate decision-making.

This opportunity offers selected participants the chance to analyze national climate commitments and contribute fresh, youth-driven perspectives to global climate discussions.

About the Programme

The NDC Youth Ambassador Program is built around the concept of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs)—country-level climate action plans developed under the Paris Agreement.

While NDCs are widely reviewed by institutions and experts, this programme introduces a unique approach by examining them through youth, gender, and intergenerational perspectives. Participants play a direct role in strengthening how climate policies reflect equity and inclusion.

What Ambassadors Will Do

Selected ambassadors will:

• Review and analyze their country’s NDC

• Apply youth-focused and gender-responsive frameworks

• Contribute insights to global climate policy conversations

• Strengthen their understanding of climate governance and advocacy

Each participant will focus exclusively on their own country’s climate plan, ensuring authentic, locally grounded perspectives.

Applicants must be citizens or residents of one of these countries.

Duration

• Programme Period: 6 April – 11 May 2026

• Commitment: Approximately 5 weeks

Participants are expected to attend training sessions and complete their assigned analysis within the timeline.
