Applications are now open for the Young Climate Prize 2026, a global initiative that recognizes and supports young innovators who are leading impactful climate action projects in their communities. The program seeks to identify outstanding young changemakers whose work demonstrates practical, local, and scalable solutions to climate-related challenges.

Organized by The World Around, the prize provides mentorship, leadership development opportunities, international exposure, and access to a global network of climate advocates and design professionals. Participation is free of charge, and applicants from all countries are encouraged to apply.

About the Young Climate Prize

The Young Climate Prize celebrates young people who are actively addressing the climate crisis through creative, community-driven projects. The initiative highlights the role of design, innovation, and leadership in developing solutions that can contribute to a more sustainable future.

For the 2026 cycle, 25 finalists will be selected from around the world and invited to participate in an intensive development program focused on strengthening their projects and expanding their impact.

Application Requirements

Applicants are required to submit:

• A short video introducing their project
• Supporting written, visual, or multimedia materials demonstrating project activities and impact
• Application materials in either English or Spanish

There is no fee to apply.

Finalists Announced

September 2026

Twenty-five young changemakers will be selected and announced as finalists.

Design Academy

September – December 2026

Finalists will participate in a three-month learning experience featuring workshops, lectures, mentorship sessions, and collaborative activities.

Jury Evaluation

January 2027

A panel of experts will review finalists’ progress and assess the impact of their projects.

Global Summit Presentation

April 2027

Selected winners will travel to New York City to present their work during The World Around Summit, held during Earth Week.

Prospective applicants can join an online information session scheduled for 14 June 2026. The session will provide guidance on eligibility requirements, the application process, and tips for preparing a strong submission.
