Applications are open for volunteers to support the African Youth Summit (AYS) 2026, which will be held in The Gambia. The opportunity is designed for enthusiastic young people who are interested in contributing to the successful delivery of one of Africa’s leading youth-focused events.

The volunteer programme offers participants the chance to gain practical experience while working alongside experienced professionals, youth leaders, and development practitioners. Volunteers will contribute to various aspects of the summit, helping to create an engaging platform for youth participation, leadership, and sustainable development.

Volunteer Roles

Selected volunteers may support activities in areas such as:

• Event planning and coordination
• Communications and public engagement
• Partnerships and stakeholder relations
• Operations and logistics
• Media and content creation
• Youth engagement and participant support

The African Youth Summit 2026 aims to bring together young changemakers from across the continent to exchange ideas, strengthen collaboration, and promote youth-led solutions that advance Africa’s sustainable development agenda.
