Applications are now open for the Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD) Feminist Participatory Action Research (FPAR) 2026–2028, a regional initiative supporting women migrants' organisations across Asia and the Pacific to strengthen research, advocacy, and movement building on the human rights of women affected by climate-induced migration.

The 16-month programme seeks to generate evidence on the realities faced by women migrants as a result of climate change, environmental degradation, and climate-related policies. Through collaborative research and advocacy, participating organisations will contribute to efforts aimed at advancing migration justice, protecting women's rights, and promoting systemic change.

Programme Focus

Research projects may address one or more of the following themes:

• Climate-induced migration and environmental displacement.
• Migration linked to climate-related projects and false climate solutions.
• The impact of climate change on women migrants in destination countries.
• Climate change, labour rights, and decent work for women migrants.

Selection Criteria

Applications will be assessed based on:

• Regional representation across Asia and the Pacific.
• Diversity of migration and women's rights issues addressed.
• Recommendations from women's or grassroots organisations, preferably APWLD members.
• Organisational capacity to participate in regional learning, reporting, and advocacy activities.

The APWLD Feminist Participatory Action Research Programme offers women-led organisations an opportunity to strengthen evidence-based advocacy, amplify the voices of women affected by climate-induced migration, and contribute to regional efforts advancing human rights, climate justice, and gender equality across Asia and the Pacific.
