Apply for the African SDG Changemakers Forum 2026 Opens Registration for Young Leaders Across Africa
Registration is now open for the African SDG Changemakers Forum 2026, a continental gathering that will bring together young leaders from all 54 African countries to collaborate with policymakers, development partners, representatives of the United Nations and the African Union, researchers, civil society organisations, academic institutions, private sector leaders, investors, and other stakeholders committed to advancing sustainable development across Africa.
Organised by AIIDEV Africa, the forum aims to strengthen youth leadership and accelerate progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through meaningful dialogue, innovation, and strategic partnerships.
Held under the theme “Uniting and Empowering Africa’s Youth to Accelerate SDG Action and Impact,” the forum recognises the critical role young Africans play in shaping the continent’s future. With nearly 70 percent of Africa’s population below the age of 30, the event seeks to create a platform where young people can directly engage with decision-makers, contribute to policy discussions, showcase innovative solutions, and build partnerships capable of driving lasting social and economic transformation.
The organisers believe that while young Africans continue to demonstrate resilience, creativity, and leadership in tackling local and global challenges, many remain underrepresented in governance and policy-making spaces despite being central to the continent’s development.
Participants will take part in keynote sessions, policy dialogues, technical discussions, innovation showcases, networking opportunities, and collaborative planning sessions designed to strengthen cooperation across sectors and countries.
The forum will also provide an opportunity for youth leaders to present evidence-based recommendations, exchange experiences with peers from across the continent, and explore practical approaches to accelerating the implementation of both the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the African Union’s Agenda 2063.
Beyond the 2026 edition, the African SDG Changemakers Forum is envisioned as an annual platform that will continue amplifying youth voices, promoting accountability, measuring progress, and encouraging collective action towards sustainable development in Africa.
Young leaders, development practitioners, policymakers, researchers, civil society organisations, academic institutions, private sector representatives, investors, and all individuals committed to sustainable development are encouraged to register and participate.
The forum will take place on Wednesday, 12 August 2026, beginning at 9:00 AM (GMT+1). Interested participants can submit their registration through the official application form at https://forms.gle/N5yg2PCTR8YsgaNs9.
