Applications are now open for the Global Survivors Fund (GSF) Internship 2026, a paid remote internship designed for Master’s students interested in human rights, international justice, and international development. The full-time internship offers participants the opportunity to gain practical experience while contributing to projects that support survivors of conflict-related sexual violence through interim reparative measures.

The internship will run for four to six months, beginning on 21 September 2026, and is entirely home-based, allowing participants to work remotely alongside an international team of experts. Interns will join GSF’s ACT Team under the supervision of the Interim Reparative Measures (IRM) Project Officer and will contribute to research, project coordination, reporting, policy analysis, and programme implementation.

Established in 2019 by Nobel Peace Prize laureates Denis Mukwege and Nadia Murad, the Global Survivors Fund works to improve access to reparations for survivors of conflict-related sexual violence where governments or responsible parties are unable or unwilling to provide them. Through survivor-centred programmes, advocacy, technical assistance, and interim reparative measures, the organisation helps restore dignity, justice, and hope to survivors around the world.

During the internship, successful applicants will conduct desk research on reparations and project learning, support data analysis for ongoing and future projects, research international best practices, and draft reports, briefing notes, and other project documentation. They will also participate in meetings with project partners, prepare meeting minutes, assist with team coordination, organise knowledge-sharing activities, maintain project documentation, update reporting tools, manage mission calendars, collect quotations, and contribute to internal reporting processes. Depending on language skills, interns may also assist with translating toolkit materials between English and French, while supporting Spanish translations where needed.

Applicants must be currently enrolled in a Master’s degree programme in International Relations, International Law, or another closely related field. Candidates must also be able to provide a mandatory tripartite internship agreement with their academic institution. Strong interest or experience in reparations, transitional justice, women’s rights, or conflict-related sexual violence is desirable. Applicants should possess excellent research, analytical, report-writing, communication, and teamwork skills, together with good computer literacy. Professional working proficiency in both English and French is required, while knowledge of Spanish will be considered an added advantage.
