Remuneration of USD 928 Monthly : Apply for the Embassy of Denmark in Algiers Internship 2027

Applications are open for the Embassy of Denmark in Algiers Internship 2027 inviting applications from students interested in gaining practical experience in diplomacy, international relations, economic affairs, political communication and cultural cooperation.

LOCATION - Embassy of Denmark in Algiers

The internship provides an opportunity to work within a Danish diplomatic mission in Algeria and gain first-hand experience of how an embassy operates in an international environment. Interns become part of their assigned teams, receive guidance from supervisors and contribute to ongoing activities while developing professional skills.

For the upcoming spring semester, the embassy is offering two six-month internship positions running from 1 February to 31 July 2027.

Available Internship Positions

1. Economic Diplomacy Team – Ref. No. TC-1

The intern will join the embassy's trade team, which works on Danish trade policy interests in Algeria. Responsibilities may include conducting analysis, supporting planning activities and helping organise events involving Danish companies.

The position is suited to students with an interest in international trade, economics, business, diplomacy and the relationship between Denmark and Algeria.

2. Political Communication and Culture Team – Ref. No. POL-1

The intern will become part of the Political Communication and Culture team, which focuses on political analysis, public diplomacy and cultural cooperation.

Tasks may include conducting research and analysis, supporting the embassy's social media and communication activities, and helping plan and organise cultural events.

The position is particularly relevant to students interested in politics, international relations, communications, public diplomacy, media and cultural affairs.

Internship Benefits and Conditions

The internship is unpaid, and interns are responsible for costs such as accommodation, insurance, transportation, visas and other related expenses.

However, interns may receive compensation of up to DKK 6,000 per month toward certain documented expenses. Eligible students may also have the possibility of including their SU, subject to the applicable rules.

The internship involves an average of 37 hours per week, including lunch breaks. Interns earn 2.08 vacation days per month, equivalent to 12.5 days during the six-month placement. Students required to complete an academic assignment as part of their studies may also receive between three and ten days off for writing.

Interns are responsible for arranging their own accommodation and must have appropriate travel and liability insurance.

Applications for the spring 2027 intake are open from 10 August to 10 September 2026.

The application period for the Algiers positions runs from 10 August to 10 September 2026.

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree programme at a higher education institution and must remain enrolled throughout the entire internship period.

- Foreign citizens applying for the internship must have lived in Denmark for at least three years, hold permanent residence in Denmark at the time of application and be enrolled at a higher education institution in Denmark throughout the internship.

- Applicants must also be eligible for security clearance by the Danish authorities and must not have previously completed an internship in the Danish Foreign Service.

- The embassy is looking for students with strong analytical abilities, commitment, curiosity and a positive approach to problem-solving. Applicants should have good Danish and English language skills and be familiar with Microsoft Office programmes including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of French is considered an advantage.
