Applications are now open for the 2027 European Winter School for Women* in the Study of Work and Employment Relations, taking place from 8 to 10 March 2027 at the University of Bremen in Germany. The three-day academic workshop is designed to support women and non-binary researchers working on questions related to work, labour and employment relations, while creating opportunities for intellectual exchange, academic networking and professional development.
The Winter School brings together researchers from fields including sociology, political science, European studies, labour studies, industrial relations, economics, psychology, gender studies and related disciplines. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with established scholars from across Europe, develop their research papers through dedicated sessions and exchange ideas on contemporary debates surrounding the organization, governance and experience of work.
The programme will include keynote presentations, academic development sessions, career-focused roundtables and networking opportunities with representatives of social partners. Participants will also take part in in-depth paper development sessions with senior faculty, allowing them to receive feedback and further develop their research.
The 2027 Winter School will be hosted by the Institute Labor and Economy at the University of Bremen. Confirmed faculty include Chiara Benassi from the University of Bologna, Irene Dingeldey from the University of Bremen, Lisa Dorigatti from the University of Milan, Lena Hipp from WZB, Bettina Kohlrausch from WSI, Ania Plomien from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and Valeria Pulignano from KU Leuven.
Between 12 and 15 places are available for early-career researchers, with selection taking place on a competitive basis. There is no registration fee. For selected participants who do not have sufficient institutional funding, the organizers will provide full financial support for travel and accommodation.

Eligible applicants include doctoral researchers and early-career scholars, including postdoctoral researchers who completed their PhD within the past five years.
